Accreditation
The Niagara Health System participates in voluntary accreditation under the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) standards. The program is an extensive self-assessment process, which includes a third-party evaluation of our care and services by CCHSA surveyors. Teams of care providers, managers and support staff strive to continually improve the care and services delivered.
CCHSA standards address quality dimensions of:
- Responsiveness
- System Competency
- Client and Community Focus
- Worklife.
The accreditation program facilitates our focus on quality and patient safety. Niagara Health has received a three year accreditation award from CCHSA. Our system of hospitals will be resurveyed in 2009 according to new standards of care.
